Saige's first movie

Sunday we went to see New Moon. Saige has never went to the movies, well except the drive in, but I don't count that. I had been debating for weeks on whether to take her or not. I didn't know if she would sit still through a 2 hour movie, or if she would get bored, want to pee all the time, ect... So I kept asking her and of course she kept saying yes, so I told her that she would have to sit still and be quite, other people were in there to watch the movie and not hear her.

She did remarkably well. She did have to get up and go pee, and of course that was when Edward was leaving Bella. GRR I missed some of that, the first part. Oh and when Jake took off his shirt for the first time she got up out of her seat and ran down to Brittany(cousin's 13 yr old dd) and said really loud, "Brittany! Did you see THAT?" Of course the people in front and behind us were crackin up. And when they were at the Volturi, she came and sat on my lap. I don't think she liked the beating Edward took. Saige is totally Team Jacob though. After the movie was over she kept saying that Jacob is hot. She so wants to go see it again. Maybe we will. ;)

Now I have to say that New Moon rocked! I liked it soooo much better than Twilight. I don't know if it was the new director, the bigger budget, whatever, but they need to keep on doin what they are doin. Bella "seeing" Edward was a little cheesy, I would rather of heard him. I'm also glad, (what little we saw of him) that Jasper didn't look all constipated this time. My only disappointment, well disappointments, were that we didn't see Emmett that much, so need to see him, and the ending. How can they leave me hangin like that? I know, I know it's like that in the book, but still! Give me a little, just a little....

Now I need June to get here pretty darn fast!!! Eclipse June 30, 2010!!!!
Oh and I need to find Saige a Team Jacob shirt.
Gen loved it as well, and so did Livi.

I am such a bad, bad blogger! I'm going to try to get on here more, even if it's just a sentence or two.

I'm now done with my first term at Kaplan. Just need to take the Accounting I final. Then I get a week break and on to Accounting II and Composition II. It's going good, just not as fast as I want it too. I want to be done NOW so I can get a job. Should have done this a LONG time ago.

The girls are good. Normal everyday stuff here. Saige got an airplane swing. We are slowly building a tree house. While we were doing that one day, she was on her swing and the thing just fell apart. She smashed her little fingers on the way down. Luckily she wasn't going that fast or high.

We got another puppy, (have I mentioned this?) he is a Rat Terrier. Buck. Doing ok, but he needs to stop eating my walls! His owners had to get rid of him, so we took him, or he would have gone to the shelter.

Speaking of puppies, Saige was on you tube, and was supposed to be watching Dora. Well, she somehow wound up watching something with puppies that just broke her heart. She was so upset, kept saying we needed to save the puppies and take them home. So, the only thing that would calm her down is me telling her that we would take stuff to the puppies at the shelter for Christmas.

I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week! This year has FLOWN by! In about 2 weeks I'll really be stressing about Christmas.

Alright, Micah is out hunting and I really should be straightening this house up, so I better get off of here and do something.

Welcome Fall!

I so missed summer. Really wasn't a summer at all with all the cool temps we got. But I think if it's going to be cool, bring on Fall! I can't wait to get to the pumpkin patch and see the leaves change and get to the lake for girls weekend!

Serious change here...I started school again. I am so excited! The first day is the 16th so that is coming up FAST!!! My plan is to get my Associates by Dec. 2010, then get a job and start my Bachelors. Saige will be super dooper happy if I get a job cause she will get to go to school too. I was telling Gen and Livi that I was going back and Saige freaked out! She wants to go bad!

Not much else is going on here. Saige's party went great. Well after all the eating was out of the way. Way more people showed up than I thought, so glad we had enough food! She got a ton of clothes, $55(that she already spent on more clothes and a DS game) and a couple of toys. She was so happy that it was finally her birthday! Now I'm hearing about Christmas.....

Random stuffs

I did it again, we got another puppy. I said I would never go through the potty training terror we had with Bacon, but here I am. His name is Jake, after Twilight and Saige's imaginary brother. :) He is an Italian Greyhound, or Iggy/IG for short. My dear cousin Kim got the ball rolling on this. They and my other cousin Jen's family were over one Saturday and started looking at puppies online. Well, Kim wound up with a Morkie named Jasper, and Jen wound up with a Pug named Frank. Jake is actually turing out to be a very good puppy. Just a few accidents after the first week and he now goes to the door sometimes when he has to go out. Saige just loves him and he loves her. Sometimes. When she isn't toturing him. Just this morning I heard Jake barking (he hardly ever barks) and he was in Saige's room trying to wake her up. LOL

We went to the lake over the weekend. Chris came home! YAY! Good to see the boy. We just went down to hang and get some work done so we wouldn't have to do it all Labor Day weekend. I can not wait for girls weekend in October! I love the time away with just my girls! (big girls) :)

Not much else is happenin here. Girls went back to school. Gen is in a new bigger one, she seems to like it alright. She's trying out for Chimes and Choir. Hope she makes at least one. I'm slowly getting ready for Saige's birthday bash. She is doing Hannah Montana this year. Got the cake ordered and all the stuffs bought. Her presents included. Got her the HM movie and 2 outfits. She is finally into 3T clothes. Well the length not the waist. So I have to make sure that all her pants are adjustable or have some really good elastic around the waist.

Playing catch-up!

Wow! I can't believe summer is almost gone! Where did the time go? We are starting all the back to school things. The girls have their lists, and we need to go shopping! Only 21 more days til school!

I took the girls on a mini photo shoot. Didn't turn out half bad, I thought. We went to the river, an old bridge in Sibley, railroad tracks in town,(the girls were a little freaked out about that, thought we were going to get in trouble) and to an old barn on the highway in town. Might have to do that this Fall too. Bet the colors on the river would be pretty!

I'm debating on whether or not I should do Saige's 4 year old pics or just to take her too Picture People....hmmm need to decide soon. My baby will be 4 in about a month! Can't quite grasp that yet. I started an evil tradition too. Every year I made her invites using digi scrapping. Well this year I can't and feel bad. I lost my PSPX CD and when we got a new tower I forgot to transfer it. GAH! So I want to buy PS, but I don't think I can swing that before her birthday. So I may have to ask one of my dear friends to do her invites this year. ;-) We are just doing the usual, BBQ, but this year we have a bigger house so it's here, instead of at the park.

Dear sweet Gensen is "trying" to learn how to cook. So far she has burnt a grilled cheese sandwich, along with my favorite turner, and a plastic fork. Then she decided to make some ramen noodles(the ones in a cup that you have to add water too). She put them in the microwave and then Saige said "Something stinks!" I can't smell and Gen went to the microwave and opened it and smoke came rolling out. The container was about on fire, actually I think it was at one point, and the noodles were black. TG I have a fire extingisher under the sink, we may need it. I told her no more for awhile, I'll do the cookin.

The lake has been great. But we are taking a break til mid August. I think the last 2 months we have been down there more than the last two years! It was getting quite expensive! But I am dying to ride my 4-wheeler! Need to bring that baby home for winter!

Ramblings

Ahhh summer....kids home, warm weather, lake, fishing, sitting on the deck til bed. What's not to love!

Micah and I went out on the river a few nights ago with Jeff and Shannon. We started in day light and that was great. Saw eagles and beavers and all sorts of things. We went down a creek and to a wash out that happened with the flood of '93. "Jumping carp" are all over that thing. When the flood happened it flooded a hatchery and they invaded the Missouri River. Them things are crazy! We were going down the creek tryin to get them all stirred up. A few were jumping and we were looking at them. Then one jumped up and I could look the thing in the eyes! I screamed and got down in the seat. I got up expecting it to be right beside me floppin around. But it made it back to the water. We sat and drank a few. Then it was time to go and the boat wouldn't start. Sat there for an hour. Finally they got it and it was dark. I don't really like the river in the dark. I would rather see all the things that could get me in daylight. :) But all in all it was a good time.

Everyone went to the lake like usual over Memorial Day. The first night we were there, Steve decided to go out on his new 4-wheeler. Him and Anthony decided to do a trail, in the dark, not a smart move. Anthony came back and said that Steve wrecked and was hurt. So they(Steve R, Kim, mom) went to check on him. Wasn't good. Kim took him to the hospital and he wound up with broken and cracked ribs. They transferred him to Independence and he spent the next few days in there. He's getting all better now.

Burnt Monkey

Well we officially survived our first family vacation.

Thursday~All I got to say about this day is....THANK GOD for ipods, portable DVD players and Nintendo DS's. That got us the 4 hours to Omaha. Well, Saige started in about at Omaha and we stayed at Gretna(20mins from Omaha). We got to the room and swam.

Friday~ We went to the Strategic Air and Space Museum. It was pretty cool. Lots of planes and stuff. They had a area for the kids to play in and lots of simulators.
After that(it wasn't as big as we thought it was going to be) we decided to go ahead and go on the North American Animal Safari. It was right across the highway from the Museum. That was pretty cool too. Animals right up next to your car. They had a walking trail to see the wolves and bears. The bears were still hibernating, but the wolves were cool. The male was there by the fence, he was at least 80lbs. We went to the gift store and Saige insisted on a deer. *rolling eyes* We tried talking her into a wolf or buffalo but no she wanted the dang deer. After that we went back to the hotel for a bit, then to Cabela's. Been there before, but we were trying to kill time before we ate. Then we ate and swam again.

Saturday~ We went to the Omaha Zoo. And if you ever get the chance to go, GO! It is awsome! We did all the inside stuff first to let it warm up outside. The Biodome is cool! It's all about the desert. Then we went to the Lied Jungle, of course it's all about jungles. Then to the Aquarium. That is so cool. Sharks swimming above you and all sorts of fish, turtles, and sting rays. Then we went outside and did that. We went by the train. And Saige threw a fit wanting on it. Well there weren't enough seats for us to get on that time. And we would have to wait like a half hour to get on the next time. So there is another train depot on the other side so we walked to it. We get there wait in line and Saige is like "I wanna ride the merry go round not the train." We all say "No we are riding the trian!" Cause she bitched the whole way across the zoo about the dang train. So we get on it and that is an hour I'll never get back. She wasn't excited at all. So we get off and then go see the cats and bears. The dang polar bear is going back and forth the whole time. For like an hour it has done this. We swear it is mechanical. :) All in all it was a great time. We got there at 10:30 and left at 4:30 and still didn't see it all. We are thinking about going back next year with more family. Plus in about 2 weeks they are opening a Skyfari, like a ski lift that takes you through the zoo in the air. Looked cool. So we go back to the hotel and then out to eat and more swimming.

It was a great trip and I'm glad we went on it. Now I bet you are wondering why I named this post "Burnt Monkey"
On our way to the zoo I'm telling Micah the directions.
"Turn right on 13th Street"
"Now you will need to take a left on Bert Murphy"
Micah "What kinda name is that for a zoo street. Burnt Monkey!"
Me "No you idiot it's Bert Murphy!"

He still swears I said Burnt Monkey.

Crappy Easter Egg Hunt

I was sooooo flippin MAD Saturday! We went to the town's first Easter
Egg hunt(and boy could you tell it was the first!) It started at 11am,
so we left the house at 10:45, we live two blocks away, so we were
there in PLENTY of time. Well I went to the bottom entrance and they
said there was no parking there and the guy said that Gen's age group
was down there. So I let her out, by herself, did not like that one
bit, but Saige's was all the way up at the top. So I drive back to the
top, glance at the clock and it's 10:53, and they already started
Saige's age group!!!! I was HOT! The field was just about completely
wiped out by the time we got there. So I bullied my way in and we
looked for eggs but none there. Went back out and found some parents
that their kids didn't get to do it either, and followed them down to
the other field. Put Saige into the fence and yelled "RUN SAIGE
RUN!!!!" Well she ran but didn't pick up the eggs. LOL So I
screamed"GET THE EGGS GET THE EGGS SAIGE!!!!" Well by then all them
eggs were gone too.

So pissed off me went to find Gen in the sea of
people and then we had to stand in a horrific line to give back the
eggs(Gen got a bunch and gave some to Saige) So they had a bouncy
thing, like an inflatable obstical course, so I told them I would
stand in line and they could go play on it. Well by the time I dumped
the eggs, got two tickets(they were giving away baskets) and went to
find them they STILL hadn't gotten to go all the way through it. They
were stuck by the big wall, kids were stepping on Saige and it was
just horrible! So they finally make it, Gen had to push Saige up and a
little boy had to pull her up. They sooooo should of had some of the
park people regulating that thing. Just kids so out of control!!!! So
they start calling out the tickets but no one can hear. They yelled
several times to have everyone be quit but no one listened kids or
adults. By this time I was so fed up we just left.

Almost an uneventful weekend.

Micah went to change the faucet in the backyard yesterday. Well he was twisting it off, thinking that it just, well, twisted off.
Nope!
He twisted the WHOLE pipe off! When it was done he held his head close to the wall and he looked up at me and said "There is running water!" He put the pipe back in and tried to twist it back on and then listened again. "There is still running water!!!" So he takes off flying around the side of the house and I yell at Saige to come on and follow me. There is water dripping from the ceiling of the garage, water pouring down the back wall and a huge puddle on the floor. Saige thought it was GREAT! "It's raining in the garage Dad!" And she was running through the water.
"Electrical wires! There is electrical wires up there! Get Saige out! Where is the water shut off!!???"
At this point I'm kinda dumbfounded and I'm thinking "Water shut off??? Hell I have no clue!" Then it clicks in my head and I remember in Livi's room. So I tear off into the basement and run into her room with Micah hot on my heels. So he shuts the water off. We proceded to clean up the water and then start tearing into the ceiling. After that dang mess is done. We go back to the backyard and I am to stuff the pipe through the whole. Micah says "Man, I fucked up bad!"
Then we hear a little voice asking "Daddy fuck up?" *giggle* "Yeah Dad messed up. Don't use that word again"
So after a phone call to my FIL, Micah's cousin, who is a plumber is on his way up. $80 later(which if we had to call a plumber in on Sunday it would have been triple that!) The pipe was fixed, we had water and electricity again. Now we have to insulate the pipes back up, that was soaked, so they don't freeze this winter.

The joys of owning a house....

Sauce

Me and Saige got into it at McDonald's today.

We were sitting down to eat and she kept saying she wanted "saulce" . Well her sauce is ketchup for her nuggets. So I told her she had some right in front of her.
"Mom, I want saulce!"
"Saige, it is right there in the tub"
"*sigh* Mooooom I want SAULCE!!!"
"SAAAAAIIIIIGE it is RIGHT THERE!!!!!!"
" No MOM SAULCE!!! SAULCE SAULCE!!!!"
" What in the HELL are you talking about?"
Finally I figured out she wanted salt.

So far 2009....

Has been quite the sucky year. Found out some bad news, can't really say much on that. Not my place too. Things have broken, kids are being kids and getting in trouble. Can we just fast forward to summer, I'd be so much happier!

The dryer broke. Worked great one day, the next I went down there and nothing! So I went without one for a few days until my cousin's hubby could come look at it. In the mean time we tear the dang thing apart. Check all the wires, and everything looks fine. Plus I'm having to 1800's things and hang clothes up all over the house. It's looking like a department store in here. So Steve(cousin's hubby) finds that we blew a breaker. So I get a new one. He hooks it up and I start drying a load! YAY I can do laundry again! Well, an hour and a half later, the load is still not dry and it's not hot. The dang heating element went out too! So it was back to the 1800's til today. That's when the part will be in and I can have my dryer back. If something else goes wrong with it I'm going to Wonder Woman the damn thing out the door!

Then the vacuum had been acting up again. Last time it was the belt, easy fix. This time it was just spitting dirt back at me. After I got done vacuuming it felt like I had been going down a gravel road pulled behind a truck. So I stopped using it and started using the stick vac. BAWWAAWWWAAA That was fun! Not really. So last night Micah looks at it and the dang hose it clogged up. We spend about an hour getting the dang thing free of crap. So now it works fine and I can vacuum for real.

If one more thing stops working I am going to flip out!

Freakin out!

Some of my friends from the internet sent Christmas cards this year. Well, most of us have been doing it for 3 years now, since our 3 year olds were born. Well, Saige became attached to Gracie's family card. (Might be that Gracie sent her a Christmas present too.) So she asks to see the card almost daily. Yesterday she asked to see it and I got it down and she went to her room. No big deal. Well I'm on the computer and she comes to me and says, "Momma, I am freakin!" I giggled, cause that is like the first time I heard that come out of her mouth and said, "Why you freakin?" So she drags me to her room and points to the TV and says Grace is in there.

Ok that got me freakin. LOL So I ask her and eventually I understood that the picture was in there. Wheeww I really didn't want to be in Poltergist or anything. So then I get a flashlight and I'm looking and it's no where in there. It must have gotten shoved way in the back when she closed it. She told me she wanted to see Gracie on the TV. Makes since to a 3 year old I guess....She is calling Gracie on her phone saying sorry and can I get another one. So I had to ask my friend if I could get another "Gracie picture".

New Year!

I'm thinking one of my resolutions for this year will be to post on here more. I'm slackin.

I have started the Project 365. It is a picture a day for the next year. I hope I keep up with it and don't slack on that. So far so good, but I have only done two days. :) It's just trying to think or see ideas. Kinda hard. But I think I will muddle through it. Should be interesting this time next year looking at all the pictures and remembering this year then.

__________________

Christmas was, well busy. Last minute shopping, wrapping, making. I made memo boards this year for some. They seemed to like them. The girls want one now too. So I guess I ain't done with making those yet. I think I want one too, in my newly, painted red kitchen. I love it! Love it! I just sit in here and look at the walls and smile. I know, doesn't take much to make me happy.

Well I guess I'm off to find something interesting for Day 3 on the 365 Project. :)
